AIRPORT FACTS
-------------

The Tucson airport opened in 1919 and was the first municipally owned airport in the United States. Commercial air service started in 1928 with Standard Airlines, which later became American Airlines. The airfield was used during World War II by the United States Army Air Corps.

The current airport covers an area of 8,244 acres and contains three runways.

In 2008 the East Concourse became Concourse A, comprising of Gates A1-A9. The West Concourse became Concourse B, comprising of Gates B1-B11. At this time the international arrival area was relocated to Concourse A, whereas before it existed as a seperate terminal.

The airport is served by the following airlines:

Alaska Airlines
American Airlines
Delta Airlines
Frontier Airlines
Southwest Airlines
United-Continental Airlines
US Airways

Southwest is the airpot's largest carrier, offering 18 flights a day to six cities.

A NOTE TO UTX USERS
*******************

In order to be able to have the necessary space to fit the new passenger terminal and expanded ramp area in the scenery, it is possible that UTX roads may run through these areas. As I am not myself a UTX user, I can not be sure as to whether this will happen or not. If this would happen to be the case in your situation I apologize, but unfortunately there is no solution I am able to offer.

A LIST OF IMPROVEMENTS WHICH HAVE BEEN MADE TO THE AIRPORT
**********************************************************

Here are the improvements which have been made from the default version:

1. The entire default terminal was excluded in FSX and new terminal buildings have been modelled with FSDS.

2. All jetways and buildings will display as long as scenery complexity in FSX is set at normal or higher.

3. The vehicle paths have been redesigned so as not to allow airport vehicles to enter taxiways.

4. Optionally, all three runways may be opened for traffic.

5. The land class has been changed in places so as to prevent autogen objects from displaying on the airport grounds.

6. The tower view has been changed to display from the roof of the control tower.

7. Extra fuel trucks have been added throughout the airport.

8. Ramp lights have been placed in the terminal area. Thank you to Jim Dhaenens for allowing AIG to redistribute these awesome lights.

9. All gates are accurately portrayed.

10. A generous amount of GA parking has been added.

11. A dedicated area for the Southwest Air National Guard has been added, comprising mainly of a large number of F-16's.

Preparation, Verification and Testing:

1. Verified against Jeppesen Charts and Google Earth and Bing Maps images.

2. Extensively Beta tested by members of the AIG Afcad Development team and other AIG team members - thanks guys !

3. Tested with AIG, WOAI, Ultimate GA, and MWAI flight plans.

NOTES
-----

Upon installation you will find a new entry in your FSX/Addon Scenery folder entitled "Alpha India Group Scenery Objects". If you did not install my scenery for KCLE (Cleveland Hopkins Intl.), KMSY (New Orleans Armstrong Intl.), KJAX (Jacksonville Intl.), or KDAY (James M. Cox Dayton Intl.), this area will need to be activated in your FSX Scenery library, as it contains the files necessary to display the new terminal buildings portrayed in this scenery. Pleasesee the accomanying Installation.txt file for detailed installation instructions.

There are some vehicle parking lots included with this scenery. In able to see the vehicles in the lots, you must have either the FSX Acceleration Pack or FSX Gold installed.

ADE (Airport Design Editor) by Jon Masterson is an invaluable freeware utility for developing Afcads and the latest version - 1.50.18 - is designed for both FSX and FS9 use - introducing Jim Vile's graphical approach editor to FS9 use as well.

FSX Lights by Jim Dhaenens are an excellent set of apron lights which really help give an airport a finished look. Thanks to Jim for allowing AIG to use his lights in our packages and for permission to include the library in our downloads.

Thanks also to Bruce at AIG Tower for reworking the approaches for me. This is not my strong suit and I'm very grateful for his help.
